I do NOT want these sprites to be modified or used by anyone until I give the proper authorization, which probably won't be until the game's engine is halfway through production-- and, judging by how much there's to make, that won't be for a while.

I have a question: is it ok to just take the characters and just credit them in your game? like you did now?
I want to make a game to with a Equestria scene

i want to make my own sprites and i didnt know if i can use names such as ''Twilight Sparkle'' in my game and credit Hasbro without getting into copyright trouble

Here's the scoop: Fan material like fangames is typically a strange issue for companies. Some companies don't like fangames, but others really don't seem to mind, and Hasbro feels like one of those. But you can't make money off of them.

It should be fine.
